Francesca Paola de Luca, the midwife, baptizes the infant daughter of Calogero di Miceli and Emmanuela lo Cascio at her birth on 9 April 1842, because her life is in imminent danger. Her name is Maria Concepta. Her godparents are Mariano Pennino and Carmela Cutrera, a married couple.[1]
Maria Concetta di Miceli marries Salvatore Marino, son of Bernardo and Anna Addamo, on 5 September 1858. Her parents are still living at this time.[2]
Concetta and Salvatore have at least four children: Bernardo (1859), Antonino (c. 1860), Salvatore (1865), and Giovanni (c. 1871).
Bernardo is born and baptized 16 September 1859, named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Antonino Cavallo and Vincenza di Miceli, a married couple.[3]
Salvatore, the son, is born and baptized on 14 October 1865 in Corleone. His godparents are Vincenzo Marino and Lucia lo Curto, a married couple.[4]
Antonino, a soldier in the 5º Reggimento fanteria (infantry), dies of chronic splenitis (inflammation of the spleen) at the reported age of 24 in the Spedale dei Bianchi di Corleone in March 1885.[5]
Giovanni marries Virginia Pomilla on 15 November 1891.[6]
